Los Gatos dammit run

This run involves a rugged, challenging course which starts off flat, progresses over some hills in the middle, and is followed by a downhill and flat finish. For the past 38 years, the Dammit Run has grown in popularity (over 800 runners last year). The reason for this growth is due to the beauty of the course, which travels along the creek trail and through the wooded hills. After the race, runners enjoy various vendor booths, a post race raffle (prizes are donated by generous local merchants), refreshments, music and down-right fun.

The race starts tamely enough on the track at Los Gatos High School, and it will finish in the same location. Participants run down the trail next to Los Gatos High School's lower field, past the Old Mill onto the Los Gatos creek trail and make the climb up to Lexington Reservoir. Runners continue up Saint Josephs Hill (Jones Trail), loop around and head back down the hill to College Avenue.  They then reenter the trail and finish on the track at Los Gatos High School.

Race-day registration began at 6:30AM with a race start of 8:30AM.

Awards are given to the top 10 finishers in the following divisions: High School Boys and Girls, Open Men and Women, Men and Women 30-34, 35-39, 40-44 and 45-49. The top five male and female finishers in the 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-and-over and heavyweight divisions receive awards. All finishers receive ribbons and the West Valley Track Club will provide computerized results.

The pre-registration entry fee is $15 ($30 with a T-shirt), and the fee is $20 on race day ($40 with a T-shirt). T-shirts alone are priced at $20 and will be sold at the track on race day or in advance starting in June at Athletic Performance, 55 W. Main Street, Los Gatos.

Proceeds from the Dammit Run benefit the Los Gatos High School.
